Tree Cutting Tradition at Blake's
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. From the music, the decor, the scents of pine and spices, to the cozy nights of snuggling in front of the wood burning fireplace while watching a winter snowfall…It really is a magical season!! I also love the spirit that is in the air of spending time with loved ones and creating memories and traditions that live on for generations to come.
Growing up, we never had a REAL Christmas tree in the house. With 3 kids and a dog running around, it seemed more of a hassle and mess so we always had a fake tree that we decorated together year after year. After getting married last fall, Jason and I decided to start some new Payne family traditions for our own household. One of which includes cutting down our own REAL Christmas Tree, together with some of our closest friends at Blake’s Orchard!
We make a full day out of this tradition, that started last year. Even though the drive out to Blake’s is about an hour for us, it's the most picturesque spot with acres of Christmas trees and a cozy wooden lodge for great eats and drinks. They even make their own hard cider and wine, so it is well worth the drive!! This year we decided to make a staple of this continued tradition by having another friend come out and capture the moments for us so we could look back on the roots of this tradition for years to come. We will surely continue coming out to Blake’s year and after year, and eventually will be bringing our kids along for the holiday fun!
Thank you, Tara Danielle for bearing the cold with us and capturing these special moments so perfectly!!
xx,
Justyna
