Unique Venue Ideas

Engagement Season is upon us! If you’re a newly engaged couple and in the beginning phase of wedding planning, chances are that your first task at hand will be to find that perfect wedding venue. This will be one of the most critical decisions you will make when planning for your big day.  If you’re looking for unique venue ideas to “wow” your wedding guests but don’t know where to start, we’ve got you covered! There are a number of great options to choose from right here in Metro Detroit. Here are some of our faves!

1. MODERN GEM: Local Kitchen (Local Events), Ferndale, Michigan

Upstairs of the new restaurant, Local Kitchen, lies 3,300 square feet of alluring event space, known as Local Events. The loft-like space can accommodate 175 seated guests with a dance floor, or about 250 for a reception-style event.

2. RUSTIC ROMANCE: Tollgate Farm, Novi, Michigan

Tollgate Farm offers a unique and charming setting for weddings, rehearsal dinners and showers.  With 160 acres of rolling farmland, pastures and gardens, Tollgate provides a natural and peaceful setting to your unique event.  Host your reception in the rustic barn or exchange your vows under one of the magnificent oak trees where in the back ground you will most likely see one of their retired draft horses loafing in the background.

3. VINTAGE GLAM: Cliff Bell's, Detroit, Michigan

As soon as you step through the doors of Cliff Bell's, you’ll take a step back in time. The 1930’s charm of the lavish, art-deco interior will have your wedding guests talking for hours. With the ability to seat up to 150 guests (including 30 at the bar), Cliff Bell’s can accommodate private events – large and small!

4. HISTORICAL ELEGANCE: Ford Piquette Plant, Detroit, Michigan

If you love cars, or Detroit in general, you will love this one of a kind, historical venue. The three level, 67,000 square foot building is the first building built and owned by the Ford Motor Company. Your guests can mingle among car displays, see where Henry Ford developed the first Model T, and walk the factory floor, where the first 12,000 Tin Lizzies were assembled in 1908 and 1909.
