Michigan Winter Voyage Styled Photoshoot
We are honored that our Winter Voyage Styled Photoshoot was featured on the Reverie Gallery last month! This photoshoot began with a photograph spotted in Elle Decor Magazine, which featured a dapper library of maps, rich textures and assorted shades of blue. We were in awe of the color combination and masculine-feel, and were left with a feeling of wanderlust. This library inspired us to create a wedding that felt just as dapper, inviting and adventurous.
The color palette of navy and gold enhanced the masculine, sophisticated feel, while the touches of deep orange and mint add an unexpected charm. A lakefront property in Waterford, Michigan was chosen for the location as the water and tugboat enhanced the voyage theme and helped create a feeling that guests were soon to embark on a new adventure!
The voyage details stretched from the invitation suite, which was styled as a passport, to the whiskey and cigar bar's custom matchboxes that read, "Love is the Greatest Adventure." One of our favorite travel details was the custom leather luggage tags, which were on each place setting to serve as place cards. The cake featured clean-cut geometric shapes and a custom logo representing the grooms' names (Jake and Jake), which carried over to the front of the invitation. The table napkins were different patterns and shades of blue, adding to the dapper and inviting aesthetic.
While we weren't anticipating a November snow storm, we love the contrast of the dark blue and exposed wood against the crisp, white snow. Details typically used during the summer months, such as the bamboo chairs, were unexpectedly brought to life during the winter and we could not be more excited with the results! Thanks to an amazing team that braved the cold, we were able to bring this vision to life - even past our dreams!
